Introduction
Qi Teas is the brand name distributed in the UK by Universal Village UK Ltd, there are other distributors/companies selling the Qi Teas brand on their own sites under their own company names. We take our responsibility to protect your privacy very seriously. That’s why we promise to never release your personal information to any third party company for their mailing or marketing purposes when you make a purchase on our website.

There are a number of independent distributors of the Qi Teas brand internationally. These companies are independent of Qi Teas - Universal Village UK Ltd, they operate under their own brands with separate and independent policies and procedures. We never share your information with them for marketing or other purposes nor do we receive any customer data from them regarding to sales of our product or merchandise.
In addition to any information kept in hardcopy, this Privacy Notice also applies to online applications that run on smart phones, tablets, mobile devices (“apps”), and other online services that we offer which link to this Privacy Notice. Please note also that our websites may contain links to other websites which operate under their own Data Protection policies and procedures.

What information do we process?
Only information you voluntarily give to us. When you shop on our website we collect information relevant to your purchase. This allows us to send your order, contact you in relation to your order (for example if your order is lost, an item is out of stock, payment hasn’t cleared etc.) and to pass your payment information onto our processing partners PayPal and Worldpay
All of this information is stored securely and we comply with all applicable data protection and consumer legislation.

How do we use the information about you?
We collect information about you when you purchase our products and/or merchandise in order to successfully process your order we require your personal data to ensure your purchases are shipped and processed correctly and effectively - this data is provided by you when you set up an account or process an order. We also collect information about you using cookies if you interact with us via phone, social media, websites, apps or mailing lists.

The types of information that you may give us vary depending on the specifics of your order. Email addresses, names, address and contact numbers and payment information are standard in order for us to process most orders. We do not use your data for cross purposes. For example we will only use your information for marketing purposes if you have actively signed up to our mailing list via our website. If you place an order and provide us with your personal data this will be used solely to process your order. You reserve the right to contact us and use your right to be forgotten and or unsubscribe to any mailing lists at any time.

From time to time we will run competitions in partnership with a third party – always fully vetted by us to ensure they fit with the Qi Teas - Universal Village UK Ltd brand and would be of interest to you, our customers.
We ensure wherever possible that all our data from third parties has been obtained in compliance with GDPR Legislation.

With regards to independent companies selling Qi Teas - Universal Village UK Ltd products within and outside of the E U. We have issued the following statement to be added to their Social Media platforms and Websites in order to make it clear that they hold their own responsibility for compliance within the GDPR.

“Dear distributor. In compliance with the new GDPR legislation which came into effect May 25th 2018 we are in the process of updating our privacy policy. As a distributor of the Qi Teas brand we require you to make a small addition to your websites and social media profiles, this addition (found below) is to ensure that all parties, and indeed your own brands are fully protected within the guidelines of the new General Data Protection Regulation, which is applicable to everyone selling or marketing within the EU. GDPR is applicable even if you only have one EU customer.
We kindly ask that you incorporate the following statement into any websites and social media platforms which market or sell Qi Tea products (if you are unsure where to incorporate the statement, “about us” sections are usually found on all websites and social profiles).
“As a third party distributor/wholesaler of Qi Tea merchandise and products, we work as an entirely separate entity to Universal Village UK Ltd. All of the data held by (insert company name) is contained within (company name) We as (Insert company) are the data processor.”Potential rights under the GDPR”
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), if you are a citizen or
resident of an EU country or Switzerland, you may have certain rights regarding your
personal information:
